Update: Head coach Steve Addazio confirms that Malachi Moore will not play this year.
“He’s not going to be able to play this season,” Addazio said. “He has a couple of issues that the medical people are working on that I’m really not at liberty to talk about but it does not appear that he will play this year.”
Moore posted on Sunday morning, “Built a bond with my team that will last a lifetime. And even though I won’t be with them on the field this year, I stay by their side as they have for me. #wordisbond.”
He had been on the sidelines for both of BC’s scrimmages this preseason, but had not suited up in pads.
Moore played in six games last season, making four tackles and one sack. His absence leaves another hole on the defensive line, as the Eagles also lost Max Ricci earlier this summer.
Kaleb Ramsey, Mehdi Abdesmad, Connor Wujciak, and Kasim Edebali have started on the defensive line so far in the preseason. Brian Mihalik, Dominic Appiah, Jaryd Rudolph, and Kieran Borcich have worked in with the second team.
